Using Our Building
The Patrician was first built in 1962, and has had renovations over the last 60 years, including major capital works in 2003. The building is run on a voluntary basis, with a committee elected at an annual AGM.
Standing at the heart of this community, we are doing our best to ensure our building is accessible to all and we are proud of the various user groups who regularly attend activities here, including Starbreakers Special Olympic Club, The Friendly Care group, The Thursday Afternoon Club and a number of Chair Exercise groups, as well as patrons to many other shows and activitites.
We welcome and can accomodate all patrons to The Patrician.
- There are three designated accessible parking spaces outside the building – two in the side carpark and one at the front of the building. These are limited to first come, first served. Drop off outside the building is permitted.
- We have installed automated entrance doors, controlled by touch pads.
- The Theatre is equipped with an Induction Loop Hearing system for those with hearing impairment.
- We have installed a changing table and a hoist in the accessible toilet of the foyer area.
- We have an accessible shower and WC behind the stage.
- We have a wheelchair friendly picnic bench at the front and side of the building.
- We have level flooring between zones inside the hall.
- We have lift access to the Mezzanine room.
- We have a Baby Changing table in the ladies WC along with the Changing table in the Accessible toilet.
If you are attending an event in The Patrician, don’t hesitate to contact us via email or on our Social media channels to discuss your visit. As a voluntary group, we are not always available on the phone.
