Jimmy’s Hall Theatre Play

We are looking forward to staging Jimmy’s Hall in The Patrician in November 2024.
The story of Jimmy Gralton resonated with the Director Ken Loach, who brought the story to the silver screen ten years ago in the film “Jimmy’s Hall”. The screenplay, written by Paul Lavery, was subsequently adapted into a stage play, in 2017, by Graham McLaren for the Abbey Theatre. Graham has generously re-adapted that script for The Patrician Players, who will be performing the first amateur production of the play.
The cast are all local actors, dancers and musicians, which is very much in tune with Gralton’s own ideals, as during his life he sought to bring Art and Culture to his own rural area. Over the next few weeks, we will bring you little snippets of information about the cast.
