Termon Camino

The first ever Termon Camino September 2021 was a massive success, and thanks are extended to Loughmacrory Community Development Association and Creggan Community Association for working in partnership with The Patrician to deliver a brilliant Parish event.

Massive thanks to all the ‘Caminoers’. It was a brilliant social event, filled with learning and lots of fresh air.

Thanks to all those who assisted with stewarding, leading walks, giving oral history, facilitating access to land, taking and sharing pictures and being patient with us when we walked the roads.

For the record, the 12 Termon Camino 2021 walks were:
1. Sultin – a walk with stunning views of The Sperrins
2. The Lough – a beautiful walk of The Lough and Loughmacrory Village
3. Windmill Walk – taking in Gleninue, the lanes of Innishatieve and Altinagh.
4. Copney View – superb views of Greencastle, Carrickmore and The Sperrins
5. Old Stones & Stories – the standing stone, Court tomb and wedge tomb at Coolaharan road
6. The Sentry Box – a walk to Shane Bernaghs lookout seat
7. An Creagan – a retreat around the boardwalk and paths of the raised bogs at An Creagan
8. The Glen – a stunning walk around the area known as The Geln, with views towards the Sperrins and Mullagharan
9. Sluggan – taking in the ancestoral home of Kurt Cobain and Dunmisk Fort
10. Creggandeveskey Court Tomb – taking in the beautiful ancient site at Creggandeveskey
11. Fantastic Forts – taking in Lois Dubh Fort overlooking Lough Fingrean
12. The Spires – taking in the town of Carrickmore and the two Churches

We hope we can deliver an event like the future.
